The New York Times writes about Cape May Food Tours

A sampling of food tours: CAPE MAY Cape May Food Tours, which started last month, are guided walking tours of two-and-a-half to three hours, making six stops at restaurants and a specialty shop for tastings. Year-round except January; through the end of the year, tours are scheduled for Thursday through Sunday. Information and tickets ($45): www.capemayfoodtours.com.

NEWARK Daniel Rosati, a cooking instructor who also runs culinary travel programs in Italy, leads walking tours of the Ironbound, known for its Portuguese cuisine. For groups of 8 to 18 people, the tour, which runs about four hours, includes visits to a butcher and to purveyors of fish, wine, and pastry. UNION The Galloping Hill Inn is the starting point for the Annual New Jersey Hot Dog Tour, now in its ninth year. John Fox, a hot dog enthusiast, leads participants on a bus tour visiting about a half-dozen hot dog joints and sampling different styles. This year’s tour, on Sept. 22, runs about six hours and costs $35, including soft drinks on the bus but not hot dogs. Information or tickets: Erwin Benz [email protected].
